Michelin Expands California Guide with Seven Bay Area Picks Across SF, Oakland, and Los Gatos
Michelin’s California Guide adds seven Bay Area restaurants—SF’s Kitchen Istanbul, Maria Isabel, Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement, and Via Aurelia; Oakland’s Joodooboo and Popoca; and Los Gatos’ Vicinity—designated as “New” in the Recommended tier (not yet Bib Gourmand or stars), bringing California’s total to 21. The additions showcase a Turkish wine-forward destination, heirloom Mexican cuisine, soulful fried chicken, Tuscan fine dining, Korean-inspired banchan, masa-driven fare, and a California-inspired tasting menu, with the ceremony set for June 24 in San Diego.
