Cornell Faces Lawsuit Over 2024 Alleged Drugging and Gang-Rape at Chi Phi
A former Cornell student filed a lawsuit on Nov. 8, 2024, alleging she was drugged and gang-raped by members of Cornell’s Xi chapter of Chi Phi at the fraternity house after attending events at Tri-Delta and Moonies Bar in October 2024; the complaint names multiple individuals and organizations and seeks damages, accusing the defendants of negligence and other violations. Cornell has opened Title IX and Ithaca Police investigations, with temporary suspensions issued for several individuals, while responses from some parties are still forthcoming and claims are disputed by at least one defense attorney.
