Cliffside Tragedy in Grand Junction Claims Five Teen Lives
Five 17-year-olds died when a car veered off a Lookout Lane cliff in Grand Junction. Investigators say speed may have played a role in the late-Saturday crash; responders found the vehicle on the hillside after dispatch around 7:45 a.m. Sunday. Three occupants were wearing seatbelts (including the driver and front passenger); the two unbelted occupants were ejected. Autopsies confirmed the deaths were due to the crash, and the coroner will not publicly name the victims because they are minors.
