Lock the Lock Screen: Stop iPhone Thieves From Turning on Airplane Mode
A quick iPhone tweak can boost recovery odds if your phone is stolen: disable Control Center access on the lock screen (Settings > Face ID & Passwords > Allow Access When Locked > turn off Control Center). That prevents thieves from turning on airplane mode from the lock screen, keeping Find My usable when the device is online. After unlocking with a passcode or Face ID, control center access returns. Android users can remove airplane mode from quick settings, and both Find My and Find My Device offer remote erase/lock options.
