Dartmouth Health trims workforce, cuts hundreds of roles amid rising costs
Dartmouth Health announced layoffs of 124 employees and canceled 303 open positions across Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Southern Region clinics as part of a restructuring to curb costs amid rising labor, supply, and drug costs and slower insurer payments. The system reported back-to-back quarterly operating losses and launched its Acceleration to Transformation Office to cut expenses while continuing capital projects and offering transition support to affected staff, with the aim of maintaining patient care.
