New Study Links Psychopathic Traits to Specific Writing Patterns in Non-Criminal Populations
Researchers at the University of Mississippi found that traits associated with psychopathy, such as boldness, disinhibition, and meanness, manifest in everyday writing. A study of 451 participants showed that high scores in these areas correlate with specific word choices, challenging the stereotype that such individuals are emotionally detached. The findings suggest these traits exist on a spectrum and can predict outcomes like recidivism, even in people who have not committed crimes.
