Australia to give people control over social media algorithms under new law
Australia is drafting a 'digital duty of care' law that would require platforms such as Meta to offer users an option to turn off algorithm-driven recommendations in their feeds, aiming to curb addictive or sensational content and extend protections including for children; the draft bill is expected to be introduced to Parliament this week.
