Mass displacement widens in Sudan's Kordofan as fighting and floods rise
UN agencies say more than 200,000 people were newly displaced in Sudan’s Kordofan region as intensifying fighting and drone strikes target el-Obeid’s power and water infrastructure, while seasonal floods in North Darfur worsen the crisis; overall the conflict has displaced about 8.6 million internally and 4.2 million abroad, with 33.7 million in need of humanitarian aid.
