Incyte to Expand Hematology Portfolio with Vega Therapeutics Acquisition
Incyte announced a definitive agreement to acquire Vega Therapeutics, a Star Therapeutics subsidiary, for $1.25 billion, with potential additional payments up to $750 million and total up to $2.0 billion. The deal adds VGA039, a Phase 3 monoclonal antibody targeting Protein S to improve hemostasis in von Willebrand disease (VWD), which could become a subcutaneous prophylactic therapy. Closing is expected in Q3 2026, subject to regulatory reviews, and will incur an approximate $1.25 billion R&D charge in 2026. Star Therapeutics could receive milestone-based payments, while Incyte aims to strengthen its hematology growth drivers with this first‑in‑class asset.
