Lutnick retracts claim of no American deaths in Iran conflict
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick apologized after wrongly saying no American service members had died in the Iran conflict; the Defense Department records show 18 U.S. service members killed and more than 750 wounded since February. Lutnick said he misspoke, clarifying he was thinking of a Venezuelan operation where no deaths occurred, and Trump later referenced the Iran deaths in his response.
