Mexican musician among victims in grisly killings; two suspects arrested
A Mexican musician, Jonathan Meléndez of the indie band Camilo Séptimo, his four-month-pregnant wife Ana Paula, their 3-year-old daughter, their nanny Aleida Romero Victorio, and a dog were found dead in an upscale Mexico City–area apartment. A 6-year-old boy survived. Two men have been arrested in connection with the multiple homicide, which authorities say occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Investigators say the suspects exploited Meléndez’s relationship to enter the home, with several victims found with hands bound and the dog tied. The case remains under investigation as officials release details and pursue legal proceedings against the detainees.
