Baltimore bakery driver survives United Newark crash after fearing decapitation moments earlier
A Baltimore bakery truck driver was on the New Jersey Turnpike when United Airlines Flight 169 clipped his tractor-trailer during its final approach to Newark Liberty International Airport, toppling a light pole and sending the truck into a barrier. He survived with injuries, and his family says he feared he would be decapitated in the moment before impact. Authorities are reviewing what happened, while the flight landed safely with 221 passengers and 10 crew aboard; the driver has been transported back to Baltimore for evaluation.
