Airwars report links US PrSM missile to wide civilian casualties in Iranian city of Lamerd
A new analysis by the conflict monitor Airwars suggests that the US Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) caused widespread civilian deaths in the Iranian city of Lamerd on February 28, 2026. The report indicates the weapon’s wide-area pellet dispersion killed at least 21 people, including seven children, far from the detonation site. While the US military confirmed using the PrSM in Iran, it denied striking Lamerd, attributing the damage to an Iranian missile. Weapons experts warn the PrSM is unsuitable for densely populated areas due to its lethal radius.
