Expensive Whole-Body MRI Missed Stroke Signs, Man Sues Provider
A New York City man paid about $2,500 for a whole-body MRI from Prenuvo that reportedly came back healthy, but less than a year later he suffered a massive stroke in the same brain region the scan flagged as irregular. He is suing Prenuvo for missing signs of narrowing in the proximal right middle cerebral artery. The case underscores ongoing debate about the value and risks of whole-body MRI scans, which can generate false reassurances or lead to unnecessary testing.
