Nepal Principal’s Rapid Evacuation Saves 900 Students as School Is Swallowed by Floods
Rajendra Dawadi, principal of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Nepal, ordered an immediate evacuation of approximately 900 students after receiving warnings of rising floodwaters. The decision saved the children as the school was subsequently destroyed by a torrent of water and debris. While the disaster has killed over 950 people and left thousands missing, Dawadi’s quick action stands out as a critical success story in the broader tragedy. He has since urged the government to prioritize rebuilding schools and providing psychological support for survivors.
