"Nebraska and South Dakota Companies Dominate Inc. 5000 List with Impressive Growth"

A record number of Nebraska companies, including nine from Lincoln, have made the Inc. 5000 list. Business applications in the United States declined overall between 2021 and 2022, with regional disparities evident in new business applications per capita. An analysis also revealed an inverse correlation between tax rates and new business applications. The top cities encouraging business growth in 2023 include Plano, Texas; Jersey City, New Jersey; and McKinney, Texas. The methodology used to determine the best cities for new businesses considered factors such as new business applications, historic business survival data, economic health, cost of doing business, and new business support.
