Nicole Maier, a 38-year-old mother of two from the Treasure Coast, was shocked to receive a colon cancer diagnosis despite having no family history of the disease. After experiencing chronic abdominal pain, she underwent a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with cancer. Following surgery using robotic technology, she is now undergoing chemotherapy and remains positive about the future. Maier urges others to be aware of symptoms such as chronic belly pain, change in bowel habits, and unexplained weight loss, and to seek medical attention if they experience any of these.
