New Jersey DMV software error registers 6,600 noncitizens to vote, with about 400 ballots potentially cast
Gov. Mikie Sherrill says a serious software error in New Jersey's Motor Vehicle System from 2023–2024 unwittingly registered about 6,600 noncitizens to vote; roughly 400 votes may have been cast. The state is removing the affected names, replacing the vendor Idemia, and launching an investigation, while officials say there is no current evidence that elections were swayed.
