
Bipartisan Senate Plan Creates Roadmap for Social Security Reform
A bipartisan group of senators introduced the PROMISE Act to create a formal, transparent path for Social Security reform, including a base bill, 100 hours of floor consideration, a solvency review every 10 years, and a requirement that final legislation deliver long-term solvency, with passage needing 60 Senate votes, aiming to address the program’s looming depletion around 2032–2034.
