Seattle Center shooting survivor recalls escape and ongoing recovery
A woman wounded in the Seattle Center mass shooting at the Bite of Seattle recounts her experience: shot in the leg, she ran and collapsed, waited about 40 minutes for paramedics, and now has a bullet lodged in her calf near a vein. She is recovering at Harborview and grappling with survivor’s guilt and trauma, while bystanders aided her and police describe the incident as a shootout between rival gangs.
