Texas State Orders Trinidad Police Disbanded After Water Crisis Protests
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement has ordered the Trinidad Police Department closed after an investigation found it failed to meet minimum standards or provide public benefit. The closure follows the controversial arrest of a resident for posting about contaminated water, which sparked state scrutiny. The department lacked basic resources and policies, leading to its license revocation. Law enforcement duties will now be handled by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.
