
Trump asserts 'absolute right' to tariff power despite Supreme Court ruling
After the Supreme Court ruled that many of his tariffs lacked legal justification, Trump claimed on Truth Social that he has the 'absolute right' to impose tariffs in another form and has begun pursuing a new wave of duties to replace the repealed ones, as the administration moves to reshape its trade agenda and pursue new investigations to justify permanent duties, while also signaling readiness for talks with Mexico, Canada under USMCA and a possible meeting with China.
