Fallen Army Pilot Killed in Campus Shooting, FBI Probes Terror Link
Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, a veteran Apache pilot who returned to Old Dominion University to teach military science and lead the Monarch ROTC Battalion, was killed when a classroom shooter opened fire in Constant Hall; two others were wounded before fellow students subdued the gunman, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, 27, a former Army National Guard member and ISIS sympathizer who attended ODU and was released from prison in 2024. The FBI is investigating the attack as terrorism, and tributes poured in as Virginia ordered half-staff flags.
