Severe Weather Alert: Flash Floods and Thunderstorms Expected in New Jersey

The National Weather Service has predicted more stormy weather for New Jersey, including thunderstorms, heavy rain, and flash flooding. Tornado warnings were issued for several towns in Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon, and Sussex counties, although they have since expired. Excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding in over a dozen counties, and a flood watch is in effect for many areas. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, with localized amounts of 3 to 5 inches possible in persistent thunderstorm areas.
