"2023's Last Supermoon and Solar Eclipse: When and Where to See Them"

The last supermoon of the year, known as the harvest moon, will be visible on September 29th. It coincides with the autumnal equinox and will be visible for three days. The moon will also be visible alongside Saturn and Jupiter on September 26th and October 1-2 respectively. While a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Asheville on October 14th, those wanting to see the full eclipse may need to travel to locations such as New Braunfels, Texas. There are several stargazing spots in Asheville, including the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, and the Bare Dark Sky Observatory. The Astronomy Club of Asheville also hosts free stargazing events.
