Rare 'Mother of Dragons' Comet to Grace Evansville Sky During Total Eclipse
TL;DR
On April 8, Evansville will witness the arrival of the "Devil's Comet," Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, alongside the total solar eclipse. This rare celestial event, last seen in 1954, will be visible during the eclipse's brief darkness, about 25 degrees away from the sun. The comet is known for random explosions that can make it visible to the naked eye. While some speculate about its connection to earthquakes, astronomers assure that it poses no risk and will drift away peacefully, only to return in the 2090s.
