Saturn Surpasses Jupiter with Over 100 Moons Identified.

Astronomers have discovered 62 new moons orbiting Saturn, bringing the total number of known moons to 145, surpassing Jupiter's 92. The moons were discovered using a technique that involves shifting and stacking images taken over several years. The newly discovered moons belong to the three groups of Saturn's moons classified as "irregular," and most of them fall into the Norse group, which orbits in the opposite direction to Saturn's rotation.
