Volcanic Exoplanet Resembles Darth Vader's Mustafar.

Astronomers have discovered an Earth-sized exoplanet, LP 791-18 d, that is covered with volcanoes and could rival Jupiter's moon Io in terms of volcanic activity. The planet is located in a tidally locked orbit around a small red dwarf star within its habitable zone, making it possible for liquid water to exist on its night side. The discovery raises questions about whether tectonic or volcanic activity is necessary for life. The planet is the third exoplanet to be discovered in the distant star system and will be observed by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope.
