"Exploring the Untamed Beauty of Northeast Greenland's Summer Breakout"

Rapid disintegration of sea ice near the junction of two large outlet glaciers in northeast Greenland occurred due to seasonal warmth and wind-driven effects. The disintegration was likely caused by warm and weak sea ice being pulled apart by winds. The disintegration was observed through satellite images acquired by Landsat 9 and Landsat 8. The retreat of the glaciers' grounding zones has been observed since the mid-1990s, likely due to long-term processes such as surface melting and the rapid advance of one of the glaciers.
