Holes in Earth’s magnetic field could lead to more frequent and visible aurora borealis displays, possibly reaching as far south as New Jersey, due to increased solar activity and the alignment of the sun and Earth's poles around the time of the vernal equinox. The upcoming solar maximum peak of the 11-year solar cycle is also expected to contribute to more frequent space weather events, with the current cycle, Solar Cycle 25, anticipated to reach its peak in 2024. This heightened solar activity has already caused the northern lights to be visible in states like Florida, Texas, and Arizona.
