Astronaut Captures Stunning Galaxies from ISS

NASA shared a stunning photograph taken by astronaut Don Pettit from the International Space Station, showcasing Earth's airglow and the nearby Magellanic Clouds galaxies. Captured using a homemade tracker to counteract the ISS's motion, the image highlights the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, the closest galaxies to the Milky Way. These galaxies, visible from the Southern Hemisphere, can be seen multiple times a day from the ISS. Pettit also captured an image of the Milky Way, shared by NASA on social media.
