First Glimpse of Universe's Earliest Galaxies

Scientists using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have captured the first direct images of galaxy formation during the Cosmic Dawn, around 13.3 to 13.4 billion years ago. The observations revealed gas reservoirs being absorbed into three newly forming galaxies, providing insights into the early stages of galaxy and star system formation. This discovery marks a significant step in understanding the Universe's evolution from the primordial plasma soup to its current state. The research has been published in Science.
