Join Astronomers in the Hunt for Asteroids.

The University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory has launched an online portal that allows anyone with an internet connection to help discover asteroids and comets hurtling through our solar system. The program is part of the NASA-funded Catalina Sky Survey, which aims to identify space rocks that regularly visit Earth's neighbourhood. Participants can create an account on Zooniverse and assist professional researchers by looking at sets of images of the night sky taken by one of the Catalina Sky Survey telescopes and deciding if the identified speck of light in the images looks like a genuine celestial body or a false detection.
