The Falcon 9 rocket, known as B1058, which made history by launching NASA astronauts from US soil for the first time in nine years, tipped over and was damaged on its return trip to Cape Canaveral after its 19th successful mission. The booster had a significant role in SpaceX's fleet, particularly for its part in the Demo-2 mission in 2020. Doug Hurley, the astronaut who commanded that mission, expressed a desire to see parts of the fallen booster displayed in a museum alongside the Crew Dragon spacecraft. Despite the unfortunate end for the rocket, Hurley acknowledged SpaceX's extensive use of the booster and the inspiration it could still provide if exhibited.
