"Webb Space Telescope Uncovers Ancient Supermassive Black Hole"

The Webb Space Telescope has discovered the most distant black hole yet, located at the center of a galaxy dating back to within 570 million years of the Big Bang. However, this record is expected to be surpassed soon, as Webb has already spotted other black holes that appear to be even closer to the Big Bang. The recently discovered black hole is relatively small, equivalent to about 9 million times the mass of our sun, and more observations are needed due to weak signals. The team also identified two smaller black holes from the early universe, suggesting that these downsized versions may have been more common than previously thought.
