Originally intended for five test runs, Ingenuity defied expectations by flying 72 times and logging over two hours of flight time, aiding in the search for signs of ancient microbial life on Mars. NASA is also working on expediting the return of Martian rocks collected by the Perseverance rover back to Earth, while China aims to achieve a sample return mission to Mars by 2030.
