"Perseverance Rover Spots Damaged Ingenuity Helicopter in Martian Desert"

NASA's Perseverance Mars rover captured images of the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter at its final airfield, nicknamed "Valinor Hills," after sustaining damage to its rotor blades during its 72nd flight. The six images were stitched together from 1,475 feet away, showing an enhanced-color view of the scene. The helicopter was built by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is supported by NASA's Science Mission Directorate, with contributions from various organizations. Perseverance's mission on Mars includes astrobiology research, geological characterization, and the collection and caching of Martian rock and regolith. Subsequent missions, in cooperation with ESA, aim to collect and return these samples to Earth.
