A top Chinese scientist, Ouyang Ziyuan, has claimed that India's Chandrayaan-3 Vikram Lander did not land at the lunar south pole as claimed, stating that it is actually situated at 69 degrees south latitude. While technically correct, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has never claimed to have landed directly at the South Pole, but rather in its vicinity. The mission has been successful in detecting water ice and analyzing the lunar soil, providing valuable insights into the moon's composition.
