Ingenuity Mars Helicopter Sets New Record with 56th Flight

NASA's Mars helicopter Ingenuity has completed its 56th flight, flying 1,334 feet across the Martian surface at a maximum altitude of about 39 feet. The helicopter, which was originally meant to demonstrate powered, controlled flight on another world, has now flown over 42,369 feet in total. Ingenuity will continue to map the planet's surface as long as it remains operational, and NASA is working on creating more lightweight helicopters for future missions.
