James Webb Telescope Reveals Hidden Rings and Boring Uranus

The James Webb Space Telescope has captured a stunning image of Uranus, revealing the planet's turquoise color, moons, and rings in infrared imaging. The telescope was able to capture never-before-seen details of the planet's unusual rotation, tipped over on its side, and a polar brightening as the planet moves into the full light of the summer Sun. The image also shows clouds linked to storm activity in the predominantly hydrogen and helium atmosphere of the ice giant. The telescope captured 11 of the 13 known rings circling the planet and many of its 27 known moons.
