Labor Day Goes Quiet on the ISS as Astronauts Take a Break in Orbit

NASA astronauts Jack Hathaway, Jessica Meir and Anil Menon will have Labor Day off aboard the International Space Station, joined by European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot; three Russian cosmonauts (Pyotr Dubrov, Andrey Fedyaev, Anna Kikina) will keep working, including monitoring the undocking of Progress 94 and the planned Progress 96 docking on Sept. 9. Downtime is typical on long missions to help crew wellbeing and productivity, though not all crewmates observe holidays in the same way and certain activities (like open flames) are prohibited on the ISS.
