"Massive 'Martian Sunspot' Visible from Mars Now Directly Facing Earth"

A colossal sunspot group, AR3576, more than 15 times the diameter of Earth and visible from Mars, is now facing Earth. This magnetically complex sunspot is crackling with M-class solar flares and could pose a threat for X-class solar flares. Solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from sunspots can disrupt satellites and electronic technology on Earth. Scientists are closely monitoring the sun's activity using spacecraft and observatories to improve space weather forecasting.
