NASA bets on MoonFall drones to map the Moon's south pole

NASA's MoonFall program, led by JPL, plans to deploy four autonomous drones over the Moon's south pole by 2028, each carrying cameras and sensors to stitch a detailed moonscape map that will guide future Artemis landings and base operations, while leaning on industry partners and Ingenuity’s Mars experience to accelerate development and reduce costs.
