"NASA's Ingenuity Helicopter Sets New Record with 56th Flight on Mars"

NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter completed its 56th flight on August 26, covering a distance of 1,334 feet (410 meters) and reaching a maximum altitude of approximately 39 feet (12 meters). The goal of this flight was to reposition the helicopter, which has been serving as a scout for NASA's Perseverance rover on Mars. Since its arrival on the Red Planet in February 2021, Ingenuity has flown for a total of more than 100 minutes and covered 42,369 feet (12,914 meters) of ground.
