"Rare Eclipse: Betelgeuse, One of the Brightest Stars, Vanishes in Spectacular Event"

Betelgeuse, one of the brightest stars in the night sky, will experience a one-of-a-kind eclipse as an asteroid passes in front of it. The eclipse will be visible along a narrow path from central Asia to parts of Mexico and will also be livestreamed. Astronomers hope to learn more about Betelgeuse and the asteroid, named 319 Leona, through the eclipse. The event is expected to last no more than 15 seconds and could result in a total eclipse or a "ring of fire" eclipse. Viewers can watch the livestream hosted by the Virtual Telescope Project.
