"Scientists Discover 12-Billion-Year-Old Water Floating in Space"

Astronomers have discovered a 12-billion-year-old body of water in space, surrounding a massive black hole called a quasar more than 12 billion light-years away. This reservoir of water is equivalent to 140 trillion times all the water in the world's oceans and is spread across an area hundreds of light-years in size, with a temperature of -53 °C. The discovery, made by two teams of astronomers, provides evidence that water is pervasive throughout the universe, even at the very earliest times, and sheds light on the unique environment around the quasar.
