A positive view of aging keeps the mind and body sharper longer
A Yale-led study of more than 11,000 adults aged 50–99 followed for about 12 years finds that those with more positive attitudes toward aging perform better on physical and cognitive tasks, and 44% actually show improvements over time. Positive mindsets promote healthier behaviors and social engagement, while contesting ageism that links aging with inevitable decline; overall, aging can preserve function and opportunity rather than mean decline.
