
Tennessee cycling crash claims Milligan University students
A 69-year-old driver plowed into Milligan University’s cycling team during a training ride on Highway 19E in Hampton, Tennessee, killing sophomores Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers and injuring seven others. The driver, John Benfield, was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide by recklessness and five counts of aggravated assault by vehicle by recklessness; four of the injured are in critical condition, two are stable, and one was released. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and expressed condolences from Milligan University and USA Cycling.
