McIlroy lauds Bellerive crowds as BMW Championship heads into weekend
Rory McIlroy shot 69 in the BMW Championship’s second round at Bellerive, moving to one-under for the day and seven-under overall, two behind the leader heading into the weekend. He praised the crowd’s energy, calling them amazing and comparing the atmosphere to his 2018 PGA experience at Bellerive. On day two, he ranked fourth off the tee and eighth in putting, but struggled with iron play, chipping, and around-the-green work, ranking 39th and 41st in those areas respectively. If he irons out those gaps, he has a real chance to contend as the weekend approaches.”,
