DT-109 Reverses Severe Fatty Liver Disease by Repairing the Gut Barrier
An experimental glycine-based tripeptide called DT-109 reversed severe metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH) in animal studies by strengthening the gut barrier and lowering intestinal ammonia, disrupting the harmful gut-to-liver inflammatory loop; findings in mice and nonhuman primates point to a new gut-targeted therapy approach for MASH, with clinical trials needed to assess safety and effectiveness in people.
